It's finally starting to look like autumn around here with the trees showing color and the air a little crisp. Too bad the highs are still in the mid 80s. I thought it would be cooler today and wore a hoodie sweatshirt and I was burning up. AND there are still mosquitos hanging around in all of the shady spots!
CC#1 proved to me today that she can move on to book 2 in piano tomorrow. Mind you, these are very simple pieces; about 8 of them. I'll have to give her a lesson tomorrow.
She kept getting distracted into play on the way to scriptures and that made us a little behind but it all worked out. We did the whole scripture routine.
For math she did the back of a worksheet she did incorrectly yesterday and then another worksheet. WE spent a long time practicing facts and counting. She struggles with counting by 2s. She can add two digit numbers but can't count by two as well even though we practice it almost every single day.
We went over pronouns, she wrote out her spelling words and did handwriting and I was so tired I went and took a nap while she read and watched TV. Luckily CC#3 was tired and so was baby and we all took naps together.
I woke at 1pm and we got ready for gymnastics at 2pm. From there we went to my sister's so they could jump on the trampoline with their cousins and we picked a movie (both my sisters have tons of movies but I don't have many) so we could watch a family movie.
When we got home I read the next history section to CC#1 and then we did two activities from the Story of the World book. We made fake colored glass with crayon shavings and we made dye from blueberries to make a necklace. Tomorrow we'll make Phoenician (pita) bread.
CC#1 was good enough to help me make pizza for dinner and CC#2 did other chores. CC#2 didn't really do any school stuff other than painting and drawing. I didn't even read to them today.
They also took time out from school to do their laundry. They had a mountain of it to do and I also started having CC#1 help #3 with his clothes and #2 is now doing baby's clothes, even though I have to redo a lot of it since I haven't shown her how to fold baby's clothes yet.
Off to watch the movie now: Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
